The traditional retirement pictured in commercials and magazines may sound appealing to many, but those who have gone through it tell a different story.  Endless days spent on the beach, golf course, or in other leisure activities quickly get boring.  Statistics back this up, with over one-third of male retirees going back to work in some form within one year of retirement.  Replacing full-time work with full-time leisure shouldn’t be how retirement is designed.

A more holistic approach to retirement certainly provides time for travel and leisure, but also includes activities that engage our minds and bodies, and meets the need for connection with family, friends, and community.  We call this concept The New Retirement, with different areas working together to provide a healthy, engaging, and meaningful retirement plan:
